VETS Canada opens Ottawa
Drop-in and Support Centre
Canada is extremely pleased to
announce that we have opened our
first Veterans’ Drop-in and Support
Centre in downtown Ottawa at 517
Besserer Street on 17
September, 2018. The Centre
will be open throughout the week and
be a place where Veterans will be
welcomed and receive the immediate
and timely support that they may
need. from VETS Canada, Veterans
Affairs Canada and other government
and community organizations.
Centre will be operated by a full
time VETS Canada social services
worker who has the necessary skills
to effectively support our Veterans.
The Centre will also include a
Veteran’s lounge, computer center,
library and common area. Veterans
will be able to use the laundry
facilities, a phone and receive food
and gas cards, bus tickets, a
coffee, and sandwich, if needed. Our
work over the years and research
with Veterans, clearly points to the
need for a Veteran’s facility where
Veterans receive immediate and
timely support from qualified
personnel and Veterans. The Centre
will also become the home for our
serving and retired military
personnel, former members of the
RCMP and those who support the
Canadian military from our Ottawa
VETS Canada Chapter, helping them to
continue to effectively support our
Veterans in need in the Ottawa and
surrounding area, and to volunteer
at the Centre.

Our members are men
and women, the young and not so young.
They all have one thing in common. They
care! They care about Canada's Veterans,
they care about seniors, they care about
Canada's youth and they care about each
